Take Your Next Step

Your Next Step

Spiritual growth is a journey where we are always connecting, growing, and going with Jesus. An outward-focused follower of Jesus doesn’t just move from one stage to the next — at every stage, we connect with Him personally, grow with Him in community, and go with Him to make disciples of others.

Connect with Jesus

An outward focused follower of Jesus prioritizes the necessity of knowing Jesus personally, not just knowing facts about him. To be a disciple is to be intimately connected with Jesus and his ways. To know a person, we must spend time with them. To know Jesus, we meditate on the truth found in his word and speak with him when we pray. We turn to him for guidance, for power to obey him, and for an example to follow. The more we relate to him personally, the more we come to love and devote ourselves to him.

Grow with Jesus

An outward focused follower of Jesus is transformed by his Spirit as they connect with him and engage in community with other disciples.  Spiritual growth happens in community by sharing our life in Christ with other believers. Jesus modeled this approach by his intentional involvement with various groups of people – sometimes 1-on-1, in small groups of 3 or 12, and in larger groups of 70 or more. He shared the truth with them and then demonstrated how to apply it to everyday situations.

Go with Jesus

An outward focused follower of Jesus is called to live and love as he did and go make disciples of all nations.  Our purpose is to follow Jesus’ example of self-giving love so that others might know and follow him. Our mission is to make disciples who advance his kingdom of love in their families, communities, workplaces, churches, and around the world.
