High School

High School ministry at Grace is a place where Sr. High students (grades 9-12) can experience God's love in a real and relevant way. Each Sunday night and Wednesday night, students build relationships with others and learn about God's word in a relevant and authentic way addressing issues every Sr. High student faces. We love to help students get hooked into discovering God's plan for their life.

Ongoing Outreach Activities

Serving our local outreach ministries is a great way for our students at Grace to implement all three aspects of our mission "To Love, To Learn, To Lead". Loving kids and loving God, Learning about the importance of serving others, and Leading in such a way that teaches purely by action alone.

Freedom Fire Urban Ministries- 5:45pm-8:30pm Friday, February 24th
Freedom Fire is an organization dedicated to strengthening the young people of downtown Kansas City by equipping them to guide the community spiritually, economically, and socially. We can help by playing with kids and serving food. If you are interested in serving we will be meeting at 5:45 at the 888 Asian Market located at the northwest corner of Hwy 69 and 119th Street. We will return to this same location for pick up at 8:30. If you need additional information contact Hillary Kyle.

Hope Faith Ministries Serve Day- 8:15am-1:00pm Saturday, February 11th
Hope Faith is a non-profit faith-based day center that helps serve the homeless, and less fortunate of Kansas City. We can help this organization by sorting through and organizing donations, and assisting the staff with various projects. We will leave Grace at 8:00am, we will be stopping for lunch on our way back so make sure to bring $10. Arrival time back at Grace will be 1pm. If you have any questions or need additional information please contact Hillary Kyle.

Future Events
Upcoming events for High School ministry. For more information on each event, contact Josh Krzanak, or Hillary Kyle at the church office.

Summer Camp - June 11th thru 15th – Cost $325
Summer camp is a crucial part of our Student Ministries. It's a time where our youth group grows closer together and closer to God through focused teaching, a healthy dose of fun, and intentional relationship building. For a lot of students, camp is the highlight of the year as they step away from the busyness of life, unplug from the noise of the many things that we surround ourselves with, and have a chance to connect with God and friends. For Summer Camp 2012 our Student Ministries has taken over Logan Valley Retreat Center in Ellington, MO and will be joined by worship band A.W.A.M. inspiring and relevant biblical teaching, games and recreation, a float trip down the beautiful Current River and MORE!

Mission Trip: Haiti - June 23rd thru 30th H.S. & M.S.(accompanied by an adult) - Cost $1,500 (Passport & Travel Insurance Required, not included in this price)
Our Student Ministries has partnered with Mission of Hope: Haiti mohhaiti.org to put together a mission experience that will blow your teen away. It's often been said that the mission trip is more about the work the Lord is doing in the missionary's heart, than the work the missionary is doing. Haiti will set the stage for God to do a life changing work for all who attend, as we minister to Haitian orphans, help with home building projects, and participate in evangelism outings. This trip is open to high school students and their families as well as middle school students who are joined by a parent.
$250 deposit due January 25. Register here. Balance due May 21.

Mission Trip: Joplin - July 8th thru 14th – Cost $335
Join HSM and MSM as we focus our days on work projects helping the people of Joplin rebuild from the tornadoes that devastated their community. This mostly work project oriented mission trip will also offer opportunities to encourage and pray with the families we help to rebuild. This trip is open to high school and middle school students and their parents. Register here.

Wilderness Trip: - July 25th thru 28th - $95
On this Colorado backpacking excursion we will discover the majesty of our God as we hike through the beauty of His creation in the Rocky Mountain National Park and camp under the stars. Cost covers food, transportation, and park, camping, and back country permit fees.

ReEntry: - August 5th thru 7th – Cost $65
ReEntry 2011 was insane but just when you thought it couldn't get any better…we've figured out a way to raise the bar again! Meaning, ReEntry 2012 is going to BLOW your mind. It's our end of summer, in-town retreat for Middle School and High School students at Grace. Join us for this annual campus-wide event, we'll spend 3 days and 2 nights hearing surprise guest speakers and guest musicians, eating fantastic food, playing games, and enjoying tons of cool fun during our super sweet free times. We'll learn more about God. Hang with friends, and end the summer with a bang! The cost is just $65 per student! Early registration before June 1 is just $50 per student.
