Curriculum

Welcome to the curriculum page of the Grace children's ministry. Our vision is to fully support and resource you, as a parent, to play the primary role in your child's spiritual development.

To support this vision, the Children’s ministry is partnering in the church-wide initiative during 2011 to read through the Bible together using the OWNit365.com plan.  Family chapters have been identified from the reading each day that are designed to facilitate parents teaching and discussing the Bible with their kids.  Not only will families be reading the same thing each day, but the entire family will also be learning the same thing each weekend.  The lessons taught in the children’s ministry will be the same topic, and from the same section of scripture as the messages in the adult services.

Families reading the same thing each day, and learning the same thing each weekend, will help support and facilitate parents playing the primary role in their child’s spiritual development.  This concept is based on Deuteronomy 6:6-7.

6 “And these words which I command you today shall be in your heart. 7 You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, when you walk by the way, when you lie down, and when you rise up.

Each weekend, a “weekly snapshot” video will be shown that will highlight the reading for the upcoming week.  The video will also present the “Mystery Question of the week”.  The following weekend the kids will have a chance to answer the question and enter a drawing for a prize.

Through these tools, our hope and prayer is that families will have greater discussion about the Bible and parents will be more equipped to teach their children.
